Evan Noonan, a sophomore at Dana Hills High, won the Division 3 boys title at the CIF State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park in Fresno. Noonan, who finished 100th last year in Division 2, covered the 5-kilometer layout in 15:04.3 to help Dana Hills finish third overall with 127 points. Noonan became the first Division 3 boys state champion in program history, joining Division 2 winner Jai Dawson last year and Division 1 champ Tyler Valdes in 2008. Dana Hills also set the all-time boys podium record with its 17th appearance, breaking a tie with Flintridge Prep.
